EUCOFEL joins Commissioner Phil Hogan in the High Level Mission to China (14th-19th May 2018).
(16/05/18) EUCOFEL, represented by Juan Motilla, Vice-president WG Citrus, has joined Commissioner Phil Hogan, in the EU business offensive to promote EU food and drink products in China.
The High-Level Mission to China, is composed of 70 representatives from across the European agri-food sector, representing national associations or businesses from 22 different countries, as well as a number of EU-wide associations.
Juan Motilla, speaking at the official press conference with Commissioner Hogan at the opening of SIAL China, said:
“EUCOFEL, the European Fruit and Vegetables Trade Association, is honoured to take part in the EU Agri-food High Level Mission to China. This mission is part of the EU business offensive to facilitate the exchange and agreements between the European Union and Chinese agri-food business operators.
Significant technical and political barriers in exporting to China still exist and limit access to the Chinese market. The best way to remove Chinese non-tariff barriers would be finding ways of removing them co-operatively through “win-win outcomes that benefit both trading partners”.
EU fruit and vegetables producers deliver healthy, safe, tasty, affordable and high-quality food to EU’s consumers and the world. At the same time, they are preserving Europe’s traditional, cultural and natural heritage”.
