ANPCA (SPANISH NATIONAL PRODUCERS AND TRADERS OF GARLIC ASSOCIATION)
ANPCA was stablished in February 2002 with the mean objective of defending the interests of garlic producers and traders in Spain and promoting this social crop, which has almost 23,000 hectares cultivated in our country and a production close to 170,000,000 kilos.
AOPN FRAISE (NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PRODUCER ORGANISATIONS STRAWBERRIES FROM FRANCE)
Created in 2008, the AOPn Fraise, a national association of producer organisations, brings together more than 500 French producers.
Their objectives: to perpetuate and develop the production of French strawberries by offering consumers quality varieties.
The total production federated by the AOPn represents 40% of the French strawberry. The large production areas: Southwestern France , Rhône-Alpes/ South-East , Brittany , Southwestern France ,Val-de-Loire, North.
APROA (ASSOCIATION OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PRODUCER ORGANISATIONS OF ANDALUSIA)
APROA has 58 Producer Organisations in the provinces of Almeria, Cadiz, Granada, Huelva, Malaga and Seville. APROA is an Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producer Organisations born in 1988 at the dawn of the incipient grouping and concentrating spirit of the Almeria fruit and vegetable sector. In 2004 its territorial scope was extended to the whole of Andalusia. Below is a list of members in alphabetical order and grouped by province.
ASPROCAN (ASSOCIATION OF BANANA PRODUCERS’ ORGANIZATIONS OF THE CANARY ISLANDS)
The Association of Banana Producers’ Organizations of the Canary Islands (ASPROCAN) is a private entity created to coordinate the activity of its members. Its purpose is to achieve the best possible results for the Canary Islands banana sector.
ASPROCAN puts its efforts into defending the Canarian banana producers, at the same time as it coordinates the technical and environmental control of the production and manages the communication of the brand.
Association to Promote the Consumption of Broccoli (+ BROCCOLI)
The Association to Promote the Consumption of Broccoli (+ BROCCOLI) was founded in 2010 as a non-profit organization, with the main purpose of increasing the consumption of broccoli (a vegetable scientifically named Brassica olercea L. var. Italica Plenck). It brings together farmers, marketers, researchers, nutritionists, restaurateurs and all those related entities and people interested in spreading that any product from a crop of said species, even processed in any of its forms, can provide enormous healthy benefits, while constituting delicious food.
BANANE DE GUADELOUPE & MARTINIQUE
The French Banana is grown in Guadeloupe & Martinique and is part of the premium range. It is sold by the piece in bouquets of 3, 4, 5 and 6 bananas.
BANANA DA MADEIRA
It all started on Madeira Island, known around the world as the «Pearl of the Atlantic» for its green landscape, pleasant climate and unique seaside conditions, which make the island the ideal environment for growing one of the most sought-after fruits in the country: the Madeira Banana.
It is a Spanish agri-food company based in Alicante. It has been producing vegetables and fruit for over 60 years and is currently a leader in tomato cultivation. Currently, they have 2,500 workers and a turnover of 80,000 tons in the past year.
CITRUS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The Citrus Management Committee is a private Professional Association, whose geographical scope is national and headquartered in Valencia. The Committee was born in 1972.
The Spanish citrus sector produces 7-7.5 million MT with an average value of 4,000 – 4,310 million €. Of these, €3,100-3,224 million come from exports, of which the private sector, represented by the Citrus Management Committee, makes more than €2,300-2,418 million. The production of citrus fruits (oranges, mandarins, lemons and grapefruit) in Spain is mainly destined for the fresh market (the world’s leading exporter of fresh citrus fruits with a figure of 3.8 – 4.2 million tonnes exported).
Spain is the world’s leading exporter of fresh oranges, mandarins and lemons. Of all the citrus fruit packed in Spain (domestic market plus export), 70-75% is destined for the foreign market.
For the preparation and marketing of this fruit there are around 450 companies in Spain that select and pack the fruit and sell around 5.6 million tonnes of fresh citrus between the domestic and export markets. Around 3/4 of the volume of Spanish citrus marketed fresh (packaged) is harvested, handled, packed and dispatched/exported by private exporters and the POs that make up their productions, represented by this Citrus Management Committee (CGC).
COHEXPAL (ASSOCIATION OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PRODUCERS’ ORGANISATIONS OF ALMERÍA)
Nowadays, the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers’ Organisations of Almería (COEXPHAL) brings together 83 fruit and vegetable companies and represents 70% in exports and 65% in fruit and vegetable production, as well as 67% in ornamental production. In the 2015/2016 season our associated companies have sold a total volume of 2,251,176 tonnes of 9,300 farmers who cultivate their production on 23,100 hectares. At the same time, these horticulturists provide work for around 40,000 people from more than 150 different nationalities.
Since its beginnings, COEXPHAL has led the main changes that have taken place in the Almeria fruit and vegetable sector: improvements in marketing channels, the search for new market opportunities, the introduction of biological control, etc., with the aim of promoting a continuous and sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the province, betting on the quality of our products, respect for our environment and for people; satisfying at the same time the needs of its associates through a wide range of services of great value and at a very advantageous cost for them.
FEPEX (SPANISH FRUIT, VEGETABLES, FLOWERS & LIVE PLANTS FEDERATION)
FEPEX, the Spanish fruits, vegetables, flowers and live plants Federation, is a private, non-profit making, industry based organisation. The main objectives of FEPEX are: the provision of servicies to its members in different issues, mainly related to production, commercialisation and public policies in agriculture, trade and labour market areas.
The company Fruidor, associated since 2009 with UGPBAN (Union des groupements de producteurs de bananes de Guadeloupe et Martinique), now benefits from a range of initiatives that have given home-grown production n° 1 rank on the national market.
GEFRA (PACKERS AND SHIPPERS OF FRESH PRODUCE)
Gefra was established in 1953 by a decorated WWII veteran who within a decade had become the largest citrus exporter from Greece. With the 3rd generation at the helm and the fourth well on its way, Gefra is present in most European markets, continuously reaffirming its status of preferred supplier.
INCOFRUIT HELLAS (ASSOCIATION OF GREEK EXPORTERS OF FRUITS, VEGETABLES AND JUICES)
The Association of Greek Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables and Juices INCOFRUIT – HELLAS is a professional association founded in 1934. Its purpose is to protect, safeguard, and promote its members’ financial and professional interests who are active throughout the country. As well and the interests of the Greek fruit and vegetable production in the broadest sense, supporting them in the face of the Authorities of Greece and the European Union.
KZGPOiW (The National Union of Fruit and Vegetable Producers’ Groups)
The National Union of Fruit and Vegetable Producers’ Groups was established as the first nationwide trade association organized by producer groups. It has the legal form of a cooperative of legal entities (pre-recognized groups and recognized organizations).
The basic, statutory goal of the Association’s activities is to act for:
- providing the affiliated entities with assistance in their statutory activities,
- organization and development of the fruit and vegetable market through the development and comprehensive strengthening of the position of groups and organizations of fruit and vegetables producers.
The union is on the one hand a lobbying organization, but its main tasks are to support groups and organizations in their day-to-day work. The union is also a forum for getting to know each other and making economic contacts between groups and organizations.
PROCECAM (CASTILLA LA MANCHA ONION GROWERS ASSOCIATION)
PROCECAM, Castilla La Mancha Onion Growers Association, was founded in 2005 with the main objective of defending the interests of onion growers in the largest Spanish and European growing region.
With the participation of more than 120 direct associates and 287 onion producers with a cultivated area of more than 5,400 hectares, the Castilla-La Mancha Onion Producers Association is a benchmark at European level, bringing 432,000 tonnes of marketed onion to the market.
TOMATES ET CONCOMBRES FROM FRANCE
The AOPn – Association of National Producers’ Organisations «Tomatoes and Cucumbers of France» brings together more than 1,000 producers throughout France. Gathered around a Quality Charter, the professionals wish to share their know-how, their commitment to the environment, the quality, the taste and the diversity of their products.
UNICA Group, S.C.A is a group of farming cooperatives based in Andalusia (Spain). UNICA Group was founded in 2009 by 5 producer groups. Currently, Unica Group is made up of 14 cooperatives. In 2019, UNICA Group was officially recognized as an Association of Producer Organizations in the Fruit and Vegetable sector and has a national scope. The main objective of UNICA APO is to strengthen the competitive advantage of its primary producers through integration along the entire agri-food chain.
UNICA Group is the largest horticultural cooperative in Spain and one of the most successful integration projects of the international agri-food market, which allow them to offer fruit and vegetables of the highest quality to the whole of Europe markets.
